Ken Brungardt's Stands on the Issues

Veterans Fought for Peace, our Country & Us.

For too long veterans have been lied to, being told that they would be rewarded for their service with needed benefits and services. Many have become disillusioned with the government, losing trust and faith. They feel that nobody cares about them. Ken will help with all his heart to support bills with bipartisan support to bring back hope and the benefits our veterans deserve.

Idaho's Working Families

Ken will fight for real solutions, working across party lines to fix these urgent issues. He will stand up to corruption and broken promises, holding the government accountable. Ken will ensure the U.S. remains a beacon of democracy, committed to fairness, justice, and prosperity for all. The people of Idaho deserve better—a leader who shows up, listens, and gets the job done.

Senior Citizens' Social Security & Medicare

Ken promises to defend the benefits Idaho Seniors worked a lifetime to earn—no cuts, no compromises, just respect and security in retirement. Ken stands against rising healthcare costs and supports policies that ensure Seniors never have to choose between medicine and meals. Ken pledges to stop any effort in Congress to privatize Social Security or weaken Medicare. Idaho Seniors deserve better.

Education Reform

·       “Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.” Whoever said this they were right. The future of Idaho — and the U.S. — depends on how well we educate our children. We must focus on the fundamentals: reading, writing, and math. A well-rounded education includes STEM, history, geography, art, and physical education is important for our children.

Economic Growth

We need better tax code for small and medium businesses — not just large corporations — is a smart place to start. Small and medium businesses create more jobs and opportunities, contributing directly to society’s welfare. Tariffs should only be used as a last resort. Trade deals must be fair and considerate of all parties. With thoughtful negotiation, we can strengthen international partnerships.

Governmental Accountability

Making government accountable to the people, not special interests. Ensuring transparency while protecting national interests and the privacy of citizens. Holding government programs accountable to operate within their allotted budgets and report to taxpayers. Advocating for a fair tax code — one that doesn't overburden the middle class, which has carried the load for too long. Fairness for all.

Labor Unions & the Building Trades

Ken will be a U.S. Representative who listens to Labor, is a champion for Davis-Bacon prevailing wages and works hard to strengthen Labor Unions in Idaho and across our nation.

Animal Rights

Supporting legislation that protects animals is a critical step towards ensuring their welfare and preserving biodiversity. The enactment of robust animal protection legislation can prevent practices that harm animals, such as poaching, illegal trafficking, and inhumane farming methods. Moreover, these laws can help maintain ecological balance by protecting endangered species from extinction.

Land Resources

The land is everything we all love. Idaho is named the Gem State for a reason — its beauty and ruggedness are awe-inspiring. The valleys are fertile, and ranching and farming can flourish for generations to come. Hunting and fishing, skiing and hiking, bike riding and horseback riding — these are just a few of the outdoor activities enjoyed by many.

God bless Idaho.

Protecting Water Rights

Water will become a real problem if it isn't dealt with now. The increasing number of people moving to Idaho is creating a growing imbalance between urban and rural areas. As I’ve stated before: "No Farms, No Food." Ken understands why people are moving here — Idaho is a great place to live.

Responsible Resource Management

Common sense and good judgment are the best resources we have to achieve the results we need. Water is our most important resource — but minerals are also essential for businesses to thrive. Solutions can be found if all parties are willing to come together and work things out. Extremes are not the answer; the right path lies in the middle.
